UNURTH

Know Hope, Tel Aviv
Mesa, Dajla, Western Sahara

Eime, Azores Portugal

What's most captivating about street art is randomly stumbling on your ability to be entertained by life, unedited. Seems like a distant memory we know. It's not the same fascination as watching our fellow man in embarrassing or dangerous situations but I'm sure there's a connection. Anyway, trolling unurth.com for inspiration we find urban life imitating art imitating life.

The Best and Worst Of...

Whatever happened to the "cheesy-semi-experimental-indie-pop uber artistic" music video?
Most popular is probably artists like Moby with the critically acclaimed "Praise You" video from his Fatboy Slim album that you hate to love.
Here are a couple of Seduisant's picks:

1. THE CHEMICAL BROTHERS, Let Forever Be (itunes)

The act with the first arena-sized sound in the electronica movement, the Chemical Brothers created a dance-rock-rap fusion which rivaled the best old-school DJs on their own terms.

2. DAFT PUNK, Around The World (itunes)

Parisian duo Daft Punk quickly rose to acclaim by adapting a love for first-wave acid house and techno to their younger roots in pop, indie rock, and hip-hop.

Artist Tom Ferrara, former assistant to famed painter Willem De Kooning talks "in-studio" for MOMA (inside/out). Many times the first thing he would say about the painting he was working on was, “It reminds me of…” and it could be anything. He said, “you have to change to stay the same” and it was the way he described the challenge of keeping the life in his art. But change requires work and a lot of risk-taking. Free association was a big part of what his art was about. All he needed was the suggestion of form and his imagination would take off.

OUTKAST

This post focuses on the psychedelic album artwork of Outkast, the hip hop duo based in East Point, Georgia. The images whom most don't know are creations of  Andre 3000. In a case of art immitating life, Andre 3000 paints with a bold, funky, surreal style; the same way he approaches his music.
